SURAKARTA, society.ruber.id – bank bjb, along with the West Java Provincial Government officials, conducted a working visit to PT. Kebun Buni Lesatari (Farm Hill) in Surakarta to explore the application of melon farming in West Java.

The visit was held on Thursday, March 9, 2023, attended by Senior Executive Vice President (SEVP) of bank bjb Business, Beny Riswandi. Head of MSME Credit Division of bank bjb, Denny Mulyadi. CEO of Regional 5 of bank bjb, Aris Mirawan, and Head of bank bjb Surakarta Branch, Angga Estrio Pratama.

Also present were the Head of the West Java Provincial Government’s Community and Village Empowerment Agency and the President Commissioner of PT. Agro Jabar, Dicky Saromi. And the Head of the West Java Provincial Government’s Food Crops and Horticulture Department, Dadan Hidayat.

Farm Hill is a partner of bank bjb’s Surakarta Branch, which provides credit to farmers through a partnership scheme.

Farm Hill specializes in hydroponic melon farming.

Farm Hill acts as an offtaker as well as a guarantor for farmer loans.

In addition to focusing on business, Farm Hill also provides education for people who are serious about developing melon farming.

Currently, Farm Hill has a program called Farm Hill Academy, which collaborates with schools, particularly agricultural vocational schools.

It not only teaches students but also provides understanding for teachers.

Farm Hill has even collaborated with Islamic boarding schools so that they can also produce excellent and quality farmers.

The Head of Corporate Secretary Division of bank bjb, Widi Hartoto, said that bank bjb fully supports the West Java Provincial Government in developing the agricultural sector.

“The purpose of this working visit by inviting relevant agencies by bank bjb is to learn about good and reliable melon farming practices that have been carried out by Farm Hill,” said Widi.

Through the visit to Farm Hill, they hope that successful melon farming can also be implemented in West Java. Especially in the West Java Millennial Farmers program, by first instilling soft skills and mentality as a farmer. This will then be followed by repeated learning of hard skills.
